don't respond main menu items

When I go to
the Start button and the options appear then the items on the far left do
not respond to mouse hover. The focus appears to be in the search box.
Items to the right of the left hand column respond to mouse hover. This
was not an issue in the older version. I have attached a screen capture
with notes.
