Start Menu X Pro 4.99 unstable with my Windows 8.1 64-bit

Sometimes it works ok but other times system hangs during startup. Also, intermittent issues with Auto-hide the taskbar option. Start Menu X and taskbar seem to fight for focus and neither one works. When Start Menu X is disabled all these problems disappear.

I have decided to disable Start Menu X from Windows startup for now rather than fight with these issues.

It is the same problem with StartmenuX 5.2...and Win8.1. The issue looks like a problem fixing the start button icon/Program.
